Episodes 2022

This exhibition, *Episodes*, presents the artist’s gaze—which focuses on fleeting inspiration derived from invisible relationships—as a series of "events." The gaze, once fixed on the child, now speaks of episodes occurring in daily life through the artist’s eyes, alongside the child and through their trivial actions. While expressing images through childlike innocence, behavior, and imagination, the work simultaneously aims to remind us of the social underbelly that is not always pure. It seeks to reveal the heartbreak and solace of the inner world through the will and desire, boundaries and overcoming, acceptance and difference that manifest within relationships.

Park So-young, looking forward to life in 2022 with a sense of inexplicable stirring, despite feeling somewhat weary.

‘Episodes’는, 보이지 않는 관계에서 오는 찰나적 영감에 천착하는 작가의 시선을 일련의 “사건“들로 나열하고있다. 아이에게 응시 되었던 시선이 이제는 아이와 함께, 아이의 사소한 행동과 더불어 아이를 통해, 작가의 시선으로 일상 속에서 일어난 에피소드를 말하고 있다. 아이와 같은 순수한 모습, 행동과 상상으로 이미지를 표현하고 있지만 동시에 순수하지만은 않은 사회적 이면을 상기시키고자 한다. 관계에서 나타나는 의지와 욕망, 경계와 극복, 인정과 다름을 통해 내면세계의 상심과 위로를 드러내려는 것이다.
